Causes Cummins generator set coolant not to circulate

Publisher: DTS     Release time:2018-12-05

In the process of using diesel generator sets, the problem often arises that the coolant of the generator set does not circulate, which causes the diesel generator set to fail to operate normally and the work efficiency is significantly reduced. In the long-term actual process, the electrician's home summed up the reasons that caused the Cummins generator set coolant to not circulate. The main points are as follows:

1. Cummins diesel generator pump failure.

Check if the pump is working well. If the pump drive pinion wear is too limited, it means that the pump has no effect and needs to be replaced before it can be cycled normally.

2. The liquid level of the Cummins diesel generator set coolant is too low or does not meet the requirements.
If the liquid level is too low, the temperature of the coolant will increase directly, so that the coolant will not circulate. The coolant will be 50% antifreeze + 50% softened water + DCA4. If it does not meet the requirements, the pipeline will be blocked and the pipe wall will be produced. Rust prevents the coolant from circulating properly.

3. The thermostat of Cummins diesel generator set is faulty.

The thermostat is installed in the combustion chamber of the engine to control the temperature of the engine combustion chamber. The temperature of the thermostat must be fully opened at the specified temperature to facilitate the small cycle. If there is no thermostat, the coolant cannot maintain the circulating temperature and may generate low temperature. Call the police.

4. Cummins diesel generator set cooling air is mixed with air.

The pipeline is blocked, and the suction valve and exhaust valve on the expansion tank are damaged, which also directly affects the cycle. At this time, it should be checked frequently whether the pressure value is in compliance with the regulations. The suction pressure is 10kpa and the exhaust pressure is 40kpa. Whether the external exhaust pipe is unblocked is also an important reason for the circulation.

5. Cummins diesel generator heatsink is blocked or damaged.

The cooling fan does not work or the heat sink is clogged, so that the temperature of the coolant does not fall down, the rust of the heat sink is damaged, and the liquid leakage phenomenon may occur, which may also cause a bad circulation ring.
Knowing the cause of the obstacle can enable more users to solve the problem in time during the operation, thus ensuring the normal and effective work of the Cummins diesel generator set.
